Mark Mulder went 8 and one third strong innings at the ballpark where the
Langley Farm Team beat the Chicago Rastafarians by the score of 3 to
2.

Chicago was unable to claim the lead after Langley went ahead in the 2nd
inning plating an isolated run using 2 hits. Chicago had a chance in the 9th
but they came up short.

The victory was credited to Mulder(4-2) who went 8 and 1/3 innings, allowing
no runs. Alan Embree was credited with his 1st save. Rich Harden(2-2)
absorbed the loss. He pitched 7 innings allowing 4 hits and 5 walks.

Scott Whitley was in a talkative mood in the clubhouse, 'Great game! If only
we could win all of the close ones - wouldn't that be nice! Since that's not
going to happen, I think I'll savor this one for a little while.'
